Saber & Sylvia

Sylvia is one of those beautiful-on-the-outside-as-well-as-the-inside people. She's a teacher by day and rescues kittens in her "spare" time. Plus, she has that great dark hair/light eye combo that stands out from a crowd.

Among one of may Sylvia's rescues is a sweet-faced Husky named Saber. He is truly a hybrid of Great White Wolf and Care Bear®.

Saber was a great sport during all of our manhandling, as it was probably 92 degrees outside...

Thank you Sylvia and Saber!

Heidi

I had the recent opportunity to meet and photograph a beautiful German girl named Heidi. :)

Can this girl strike a pose or what?

Heidi and her boy Ken.

Our session was near dusk, and one thing I learned about Weimaraner's is that their fur is very reflective of their surroundings. In the sunlight, more of a brown-grey, and in the shade, steel-blue...

Tall Ships 2010

As I went through my photos from the Tall Ship Celebration in Bay City, I realized that I didn't do a very good job showing just how much fun it was!  I mean it was a blast... from the ships to the music and the food.... good times had by all.  But my photos show more of the things that caught my eye, the little details of the ships and the people who worked on them.  Here are just a few samples of my Tall Ship experience.

Dog Bowl 2010

I'm late!  It's been over a month and I have yet to post any photos from Dog Bowl in Frankenmuth.  So here we go.  Trisha and myself volunteered to help out the Humane Society of Midland County by working in their tent.... 2 fun filled days in the 90 degree sun with hot dogs (not the food) everywhere and bad sun block!!  Regardless of the sun burn, I had a great time and meet a bunch of cool dog's and their owners.

This is my favorite guy, he fell from a 2nd floor balcony and is now paralyzed in his lower back and legs... check out those ears!

Emma

Bonnie was at the vet with her 5 year old "schnoodle" Baxter when she saw Emma's photo up on the bulletin board!  Love at first sight?  Yep, on both ends!  Emma was at Midland Animal Control, her owners couldn't put up with her barking.... but Bonnie just knew that Emma would fit into her family just fine.  Emma has learned to control her barking and has went on to get her therapy dog certification!

Charlie & Reilly

I'll be honest...I never really thought of poodles as REAL dogs... I mean, you've seen how some get treated by their owners––shaved to look like lawn ornaments, always in the lap or being carried. Not to mention the yap factor. "What are you barking at ?!? Nothing! Your barking at nothing!"  So, I was a bit leery when I was contacted by Katie in Colorado about doing a session for her mom and 2 poodles.  Needless to say after meeting with Brenda (mom), Charles (poodle) and Reilly (also a poodle) I have changed my way of thinking.... they are not just true dogs but a couple of the sweetest dogs you could ever meet!

This is Charlie. He is 16 and blind and deaf, but followed us all over that day. Even though he couldn't see my camera, he knew how to work it!

This is Reilly who is 11 and loves treats so much that he would try to sneak in to my pockets to get some.
